Mobility has evolved massively over the ages. From driving around with horses and carriages to autonomous vehicles driving around without any human intervention — we’ve come a long way. But what does the future look like? To create a visionary experience, we got started with the concept ‘hubs of the future’ — mobility centers offering a wide range of mobility choices. This isn’t about science fiction. It’s about the journey to a cleaner, safer, and smarter living environment. An environment of the future, where mobility moves us forward.
Starting with the storytelling phase, we worked hand-in-hand with Once to create a concept that wasn’t just engaging but aligned with Flanders’ broader mobility plan. From there, we took the lead on development, designing a highly interactive motion, 3D, and AR-based experience complete with voiceovers, animations, and multilingual support. Every detail was meticulously designed to transport users into the year 2030 and beyond.
The final product is a 4-minute immersive journey into the mobility choices of the future, told through the eyes of three unique characters. Running on six iPads, the experience invited users to step into the shoes of these characters and make decisions about how they navigate their world.
Every choice shapes the user’s personal journey, offering a glimpse into how decisions about self-driving cars, bike infrastructure, and public transport could play out in their daily lives. With branching storylines, no two journeys are the same, making this a deeply personalized experience.
Curious to try the AR experience yourself? At the new Digital Experience Center in Living Tomorrow’s Innovation Campus, you can discover it all — even beyond our mobility experience. During the tour, you will discover six themed spaces that explore the frontiers of innovation and technology. From sustainability to health, smart cities to futuristic homes, each space offers an in-depth and interactive experience. A must-visit!
