Users can scan the AR code on the back of the business card to unlock the business card of the future. When they place the card on a flat surface, they can see an avatar swiping through some words. We'll walk you through how we did it.
3D model
The first step in our process was to create a 3D model of our client. We wanted to keep everything as accessible and low effort as possible: no shooting days in a green key studio with expensive cameras and other hardware. To create her 3D model, we didn't even meet up in person.
We asked her to make a scan of herself using Polycam. Within a few minutes we had an almost perfect 3D model of the person we could then import into Blender and touch up where needed.
Rigging - We wanted to be in full control of the 3D model so we made a complete rig out of it. The arms, legs, head and other body parts can move separately, giving us endless options.
Three.js - Now it is time to apply some cool visual effects and play with shaders, lighting, particles and so on.
Design - Almost there. Time to design the business cards. These are the physical cards that were handed out.
8th Wall - Final step! Integrate everything into 8th Wall to create a cool web based, augmented reality experience... And enjoy.
